Lawrence and the Ruby
An exploration of two worlds colliding from vastly different universes — taking inspiration from one historical setting and combining it with one of fantasy. It originally started out as a kind of cinemagraph, almost a gif, but transformed into a bit more — Lawrence of Arabia meets Ruby Weapon. Concept | Design | Animation Sound Design by JM Cifonie
Bog Scallops
An abridged super-short. In a land where the trees and plants grow with memories of a mechanical age, sits a bog lit by lost technology. Bob, the last remaining caretaker, keeps things running by trolling the waters in search of small pods known as Bog Scallops. Created as a self-initiated project. Concept / Design / Animation Sound JM Cifonie
Xtep : Reactive Coil
Animation spot for Xtep's new performance shoe technology, Reactive Coil. At Already Been Chewed we worked with an international client based out of China to bring this spot to life. Working as one of the in-house lead artists my role involved rigging and animating the running shoes and waves, camera moves / animation, some shoe build-on, styleframes, and some live footage / CG compositing.
Cloud Dancer
A brief project exploring volumetric VDB clouds, simulations, and skyward visuals through a ride on a living sky glider.
Adidas Lightstrike Harden 4
Animation spot for the release of Adidas Harden 4, James Harden's signature basketball shoe. Already Been Chewed was tasked with creating all the CG shots of the shoe hovering in the designer's laboratory. As one of the lead artists, my role involved animation of the shoes and rigging, blocking out shots, styleframes, light-table animations and ripples, concept midsole animations, and shoe peel-reveals.
OPKIXONE | LAUNCH
The Launch video for the tiny, powerful OPKIXONE Camera. Created at Already Been Chewed. As one of the in-house lead artists, my role involved designing and animating assets, environments, and scenes for the spot, inlcuding the computer dash, launch tunnel, thruster attachment, astronaut rig, camera work, compositing, and edit. Look-Dev, Styleframes, Animation.
Fire and Ice
An exploration in growth and forming — controlling the effect with a single shader in a procedural manner. The creeping melt of lava-esque surfaces and the formation of crystalizing ice.
Dude Perfect | Intro Ident
Dude Perfect's Opening Ident animation — part of their graphics package including illustrative artwork pieces, video intros and outros. The animations can be viewed on their channel, website, and videos. My primary role involved developing + animating the intro ident, and designing the logo lock-up.
Lightsaber Phrenesis
A quick, frenetic animation created to help promote the Star Wars themed Art Show "Powerful You Have Become" hosted by Already Been Chewed at Atama. It looped with other Star Wars themed animations on display. Concept, direction, modeling, animation, texturing, lighting, compositing. Sound Design by JM Cifonie.
Training Mask 3.0
Work created for the performance respiratory conditioning device, Training Mask. A series of design and animation projects created by Already Been Chewed for the release of their 3.0 version. I worked as part of the in-house team as lead motion designer, from creating look-development styleframes to compositing, exploration and final animation. The series included teasers, trailers, spots, loops, print pieces, and packaging artwork.
